Selected works

In my weaving, I aim to preserve the hardiness and beauty of raw, unspun, woollen fleece – showcasing the natural colour, strength and durability of this wondrous and warm natural fibre.

Handwoven rugs and wall hangings

Made on a vintage floor loom at my weaving studio in Inverness-shire, my rugs and wall hangings are functional art made to last a lifetime – or one day be gently returned to the soil, to continue their sustainable journey.

My main material is the unspun, undyed fleece I gather from my own flock of Shetland-Soay sheep (which I blade-shear by hand every spring/summer). I also work with fleece from other small flocks of rare breed sheep belonging to Highland friends.

WALL HANGING
JULIA REBAUDO COLLECTION
2025

Woven using the whole range of natural, undyed colours from a flock of pedigree Shetland sheep that grazes the coast of Wester Ross, in Scotland's North West Highlands.

This piece was finished in early February, to the myriad first stirrings of spring. It is the first in a series of wall hangings, which will be woven in varying sizes, for 2025.

Alongside weaving my ready-to-buy collections, I work to commission. I can use fleece from your own flock, or from mine.
